Eagles take Bees at home

With their lead cut down to two points and four minutes remaining in regulation, Kendall's Pete Brooks scored twice and made a free throw and Cody Trimm knocked down a shot from the field as the Eagles defeated Byron-Bergen 38-33 in boy's basketball.

Kendall made the final four baskets of the first half to take a 20-13 lead into the locker room and led throughout the third quarter as the Bees mustered just five points on offense.

At the start of the fourth quarter, B-B's JJ Biegas hit a three-pointer and a lay-up and Jon Nolte drove to the basket for two points to cut the Eagles' lead down to two points, but that was as close as they would get.

Scott Batty led the balanced Eagles offense with 10 points and pulled down six rebounds. Brooks finished with eight points and Justin Meirs six. Tim Michaels led Kendall with eight rebounds and Trimm grabbed seven as they improved their record to 2-1.

Biegas led all scorers with 11 points while Trevor Partridge had 10. Nolte scored eight points to go with a game-high 10 rebounds and three steals. Justin Amesbury had six rebounds and two steals as the Bees fell to 1-3.
