BOCES 2 New Visions students make breakfast for families at Ronald McDonald House

Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES New Visions Health Professions students in Todd Pschierer's class created and served breakfast for 12 families staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Rochester. In addition to classroom work, health profession students intern with local hospitals and child care centers and are required to work together to complete community outreach projects.

The New Visions program at BOCES 2 is for college bound high school seniors who are interested in exploring a career interest. New Vision students intern in area professions in the fields of health care, education, justice and emerging professions (from public relations and marketing to a research laboratory). They participate in community service projects in their field of study, earn college credit for their coursework and participate in authentic learning experiences in professional situations at local hospitals, research labs, business and schools.
