COGS prepare mission statement

A citizens group in Sweden has prepared their mission statement. It reads: "The Citizens for Open Government in Sweden (COGS) is an informal group open to all residents. Their mission is to promote the principles of open government through community awareness, education, participation and discussion of issues important to our community.

Essential to this mission is the encouragement of open communications through legal access to information. These initiatives will promote the goal of ethical and responsible government in the Town of Sweden."
