Hilton Knights of Columbus host District Free Throw

On Saturday, February 10, the Knights of Columbus, St. Leo Council #9461 in Hilton hosted the District #92 Free Throw Championships at the Quest School. Seven boys and girls will move on to the next round, hoping to make it to the state championship. The contestants had to score the most baskets out of 25 free throw attempts in order to move on.

The most exciting contest was in the 14-year-old girls bracket where Mariah DeBellis edged out Stephanie Suma in quadruple over-time. (If players tie after 25 baskets, they alternate taking five extra shots, until there is a winner).

Other winners were: Boys: Age 10 - Chris Fien from Spencerport; Age 11 - Nicholas Prince from Hilton; Age 12 - Hank Wedow from Spencerport; Age 13 - Tyler Broderick from Spencerport; Age 14 - Adam Kanauf from Spencerport. Girls: Age 10 - Catie Broderick from Spencerport.
