Riga Town Board members approve wind turbine law

At the Riga Town Board meeting Tuesday, February 13, a public hearing was held on the Wind Tower Ordinance - Local Law 1-2007. There were no speakers. After a short discussion and some minor changes in wording, board members voted to adopt the Wind Ordinance which puts in place regulations for siting and construction of wind turbines in the town.

A Community Development Block Grant resolution was also passed by the board. This will allow for modifications to the public restrooms at the Buffalo Road Recreation Facility, making them accessible to the handicapped.

The next regular town board meeting is set for Tuesday, March 13.
