Assessment disclosure notices being
mailed to Clarkson property owners
The Town of Clarkson Assessor Pamela Dolliver, as part of the Annual Assessment Update Program for 2007, will be mailing disclosure notices to every property owner in the Town of Clarkson, regardless of a change in assessment. Notices will be mailed the first week of March. Instructions will be included with each notice indicating the procedures for requesting an informal hearing as well as how to obtain forms and where to find sales and assessment information.
Dolliver reminds property owners to focus on the full market value. If a property owner does not agree with the value and can offer proof for a change, there is a process for an informal hearing. Hearings will be held in March by appointment only.
Dolliver and GAR Associates, Inc. (contractor for the project) will offer informational classes in March. The classes will focus on how the assessments were determined; a review of the notice property owners will be receiving and how the informal hearing process works. Information regarding the dates and times of the classes will be included with the notices.
