Gymnasts compete in "I Love NY Cup"

The Bright Raven Gymnastics girls optional teams traveled to Binghamton February 9 to compete in the I Love NY Cup at Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.

The Level 9 Team brought home the second place team banner with Emily Thomas of North Chili taking second on balance beam (9.35) in the Child Division. Elissa Madonia of Pittsford medalled in two events: second on vault (8.65) and third on balance beam (8.00) in the Junior Division. Kerry Apeland of Chili, Justine Picciano of Henrietta and Kathleen Coveny of Pittsford also contributed to the team effort.

Competing in the Level 10 Junior Division, Taline Lahcanski of Penfield took second place on balance beam (9.30).

In the Level 7 competition, for ages 15 and older, Maura Wojak of Chili took second place on floor exercise (9.35) and third on the uneven parallel bars (9.35). In the 13-14 Age Division, Hailey Clark of Henrietta captured first place on floor exercise (9.525).
