Holley celebrates Music in Our Schools month
Holley students at the elementary, middle and high schools participated in the first of two music festivals held by the Orleans County Music Educators Association each year. "The festivals are a very positive experience providing a significant, challenging and rewarding musical experience for talented students," said Elementary Band Instructor Amy Harris.
The first festival was held in February at Medina Central School District. Students were chosen from five districts in Orleans County based on their positive manner, good musicianship and responsibility. They rehearsed both Friday and Saturday working with a guest conductor, then performed a concert together on Saturday. The featured performing groups included the Orleans All County Elementary Band, Middle School Chorus ad High School Band.
The next festival will take place on March 16 and 17 at Lyndonville Central School District. Featured groups include the Orleans All County Elementary Chorus, Middle School Band and High School Chorus.
