Spencerport Capital Project approved

The $12.4 million 2007 Capital Project proposed to district voters March 27 was approved by a vote of 476 to 211.

The renovation and facilities improvement project includes work at each school, including replacement of all or part of the roofs at three buildings, improvements to the soccer field and the addition of lights at the football stadium.

Financing for the project includes the use of $9.3 million in regular building aid, $1.3 million in special EXCEL (Expanding our Children's Education and Learning) reimbursement aid from New York state, and $1.8 million from the district's capital reserves.

Summer 2008 construction is expected.
