Raiders sweep six over Lakers

Roberts Wesleyan swept all six singles matches on their way to an 8-1 triumph over Oswego for their third victory of the spring.

Spencerport grad Eric Bellinger broke serve to win the second set in a 6-3, 6-2 sweep at third singles for the Raiders. Guillermo Zuniga came from behind to take the second set and the tie breaker to win at fifth singles.

Freshman Macieg Maksymiuk had little trouble in a 6-2, 6-2 win at first singles and second singles Josh Marcello won 6-3, 6-2. Fourth singles Brendan Barrett and sixth singles Grant Dietert also swept their matches 6-1, 6-0 and 6-2, 6-3 respectively. Maksymiuk and Zuniga teamed up at first doubles in a pro set 8-6 victory and the third doubles team of Bellinger and Dietert also took an 8-6 decision.

The Raiders improved to 3-4 on the season with a stretch of five consecutive home matches upcoming beginning with Alfred State on April 17.
