Birthday Party celebrates boxing champ

The Rochester Boxing Hall of Fame will be hosting a special birthday party for three time World Champion and member Carmen Basilio at the Infield on April 25, at 7 p.m. to celebrate his 80th birthday and the 50th Anniversary of his receiving the Hickok Belt Award in 1957.

Admittance is free to all members, friends and family of Champion Carmen Basilio. Plans for the event include a special presentation by Gates Supervisor Ralph Esposito, a special award presented by a contingent of the United States Marines, Rochester's first World Boxing Champion Charles "The Natural" Murray, correspondence from United States Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, films from his career (his classic matches) will be shown and a birthday cake.
