Rochester Warriors 14U girls off to a fast start

The Rochester Warriors 14U girls AAU basketball team started the season victorious traveling to Cortland for the Cortland Shootout. The Warriors beat every team they played by double-digit margins and won the championship. The Warriors defense blocked 18 shots, forced over 39 turnovers, held their opponents to 22 percent shooting from the field while outscoring their opponents 141-84 in three games. Offensively, every player on the team contributed at least four points during the tournament.

The team includes girls from Pittsford, Hilton, Avon, Fairport, Webster, Penfield and Brockport. The nucleus of the team returns from last season's squad, which won championships in Ithaca, Boston, Massachusetts and Scranton, Pennsylvania; while ending the season on a high note with the team traveling to Penn State and competing in the AAU Blue Chip USA invitational tournament. The team won the Penn State title.

The 14U Rochester Warriors team members are: Chelsey Cole, Cassie Gay, Jess Graen, Taylor Hartley, Becky Hebert, Kelly Legg, Colleen Renee Metzger, Clair Riley, Emily Savino and Kaitlyn Wager. Coaches are Kevin Legg and Marty Graen.
