SUNY Brockport Theater students performing in Hungary
The Department of Theatre at SUNY College at Brockport has been invited to participate in the 2007 Debrecen Drama Festival in Debrecen, Hungary. On Saturday, May 5, six students from the department will perform three of the 10-minute plays from SUNY Brockport's production of "Festival of Ten." The participating students are senior Clayton Cole, freshman Matthew Robinson, senior Kyle Leonard, freshman Lauren Miller, senior Coletta Fry and freshman Eric Yengel.
The opportunity to present the department's work in Hungary was made possible by a relationship between SUNY Brockport and the University of Debrecen. As part of that alliance, Csilla Bertha, international faculty fellow from the University of Debrecen, taught a course in the SUNY Brockport Department of Theatre last fall. Richard R. St George, SUNY Brockport Department of Theatre associate professor, will be teaching at University of Debrecen in the spring 2007 semester.
The festival will feature English language plays performed by student groups from throughout Central Europe. On May 7, the plays also will be performed at Pázmány Péter Catholic University in Piliscsaba, Hungary.
