Entries invited for Hilton Apple Fest amateur photo contest

The Hilton Apple Fest, scheduled for September 29 and 30, announces the theme for the 2007 Photo Contest is "Effects of Weather". The parameters are photos, shot anytime, which depict the effects of weather on people, property and activities which happens in western New York during any of the four seasons.

The contest is open to photographers of all ages. First, second and third prizes will be awarded for each age group: Children: up to 11 years, teens: 12-18, adults: 19 and older. There will also be a Best of Show award.

There is an application fee to help defray the cost of the prizes. To encourage the young photographers, there will be no fee for the children's category. The entry fee for the teens will be $2 and the fee for the adults will be $5. The limit is two photos per person, which is covered by the fee. Applications for entries will be available on-line at the Hilton Apple Fest website hiltonapplefest.org., at the Hilton Community Center, Hilton Library or by requesting one in writing at AF Photo Contest, PO Box 1, Hilton, NY, 14468. Entries must be submitted to Apple Fest by September 5.

Individuals interested in judging the photo entries should contact Harriet Zunno, 392-6882. No qualifications necessary, just an appreciation for photography.
