Lady Cadets beat Devils
Hilton scored three runs in each of the first two innings and went on to defeat Brockport 10-5 in varsity softball. Due to an unplayable field, the Cadets were the home team at Brockport.
Vanessa Lauber highlighted the first inning with a two-run single while Shelly Sadler and Megan O'Connell each picked up RBI's in the second inning.
Brockport strung together four straight singles by Rosie Hart, Jordan Gaisser, Hannah Barton, and Justine Moore along with a wild pitch to score three runs in their half of the second inning.
In the fifth, the Cadets plated three more runs. O'Connell and Lisa Hardie pulled off a double steal of second and home with O'Connell scoring. Hardie later scored on a single by Lauber, who also crossed the plate on a wild pitch.
Hilton scored their final run in the sixth inning. Nicole Lupinette walked, took second on a wild pitch and scored on an RBI double by Grace McIntosh.
Brockport scored two runs in the seventh inning on a two-run double by Danielle Peruzzini, scoring Samantha Phillips and Moore.
The Cadets improved their record to 2-3 with the win.
