honored by Hilton Board of Education
Every school year, the Hilton Board of Education honors individuals and organizations in the Hilton school community who have contributed to the education of Hilton students through volunteer or other efforts. This year at its regular meeting May 8, the Board of Education recognized the contributions of several individuals: Kathy Spencer, High School parent volunteer on School Improvement and Grading Committees; Debbie Buckhout, High School Music Booster parent/LeeRoy Williams Award; Elena Pelcher, Northwood Elementary parent and chairperson of NW VEPTO - Volunteer Elementary Parent Teacher Organization; Village Elementary Volunteer Library Assistants Diane Stacy, Trisha Preston, Jane Lutz, Jenna Menear; Monroe County Sheriff Deputy Charles Campanella, career day speaker at Merton Williams Middle School; the Hilton Education Foundation officers Bill Carter, George Heinrich, Sue Zukoski, Herve Darvergne; Brenda Herman, Sports Booster parent; Shirley Keene, Quest Elementary volunteer; Sharon Wuest and Eastman Kodak Co. for their donation of 132 pieces of furniture to the district through the Office of Buildings and Grounds.
The Hilton Board of Education Friends of Education award is for a community person/business; district employees are not qualified.
