Senior citizen trout derby May 17

Monroe County will hold its 4th annual Senior Citizen Trout Derby at the Powderhorn Lodge in Powder Mills Park on May 17.

The Trout Derby, co-sponsored by the Monroe County Department of Human Services' Office for the Aging, the County Parks Department, the Riedman Foundation and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, will be held from 8 to 11 a.m. on May 17.

Prizes will be awarded at the end of the event. Awards will be given to both men and women for the longest fish, heaviest fish and heaviest limit (total weight of three fish).

Participants must supply their own fishing equipment and bait. The New York State Department of Conservation has waived the fishing license requirement for this event only.
