Monroe County Legislator Robert Colby (R-Ogden), and Legislature President Wayne Zyra presented a proclamation to Coach Paul Dick and the Churchville-Chili Power Lifting Team at the May 8 legislature meeting The team won the state title in March. Village of Churchville Mayor Nancy Steedman (right) was in attendance for the presentation. Team members who won state recognition were: Ryan Steedman (148 lbs.); Vance Lenny (168 lbs.); Collin Martin (178 lbs.); Jaime Englert (188 lbs.) and Steve Dunn (275lbs.). Others who finished in the top three places of their perspective weight classes, were Chris Vitale (148 lbs.), Matt Muniz (158 lbs.), Brandon Hodgins (188 lbs.), Averin Collier (200 lbs.), Matt Kerwin (200 lbs.) and Dave Kubarwicz (275 lbs.). Steedman was named the meet's most outstanding lifter and Steve Dunn came close to becoming only the second NYS high school athlete to officially deadlift 600 lbs. May 13, 2007 |
