New principal appointed at Brockport Ginther School
The Brockport Central School District Board of Education appointed Rosemary Custer as principal of the Brockport Ginther Elementary School. She will begin her new role July 1.
Custer, assistant principal at Ginther for the last four years, will succeed Principal Ann Sweeting, who is retiring. Prior to becoming assistant principal, Custer was a literacy specialist and reading recovery teacher at the Ginther School for three years. She also taught at the Spencerport Central School District for nine years prior to coming to Brockport. Custer holds masters of science degrees in reading and elementary education as well as a bachelor of science degree in English from SUNY Brockport. She received her School District Administrator certification from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.
Custer resides in Spencerport with her husband, Neil. Their oldest son and daughter-in-law live in Denver, Colorado and youngest son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter live in Greece. In Custer's spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends.
