Students give
tender loving care

Ryan Plassche, a student in the 6-1-1 BOCES classroom at Holley Middle School, gives some tender loving care to a chick that hatched in the incubator his teacher, Carla Rodriquez, borrowed from the BOCES 2 Elementary Science Program. Students each kept a "chick chart" during the 21-day incubation period after which nine chicks hatched. The activity is part of the living environment science curriculum, which also included research reports on specific bird species, games, art projects and a visit by some live birds of prey.
