Brockport receives grant for concert series

The Village's Annual Summer Serenades Concert Series, which kicked off Thursday, June 7 with a performance from the Brockport High School group Mad Vocals, will be underwritten this year with a grant from the Rochester Area Community Foundation. The village received $2,000.

The concerts, which run every Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. through the end of August, are held at Sagawa Park in downtown Brockport.

Upcoming concerts include:

June 21, Nostalgic Reunion; 28, Johnny Matt Band;
July 5, The Boomers; 13, BHS Concert Band; 19, BHS Jazz Ensemble; 26, Brockport Community Big Band.
August - 3, Golden Eagle String Band (Friday concert, at Harvester Park); 9, The Bar-Room Buzzards; 17, Brass Magic; 23, Kate Lee & No Strings Attached; and 30, String Theory.
