B-B students win in literary contest

Genesee Valley BOCES holds an annual Literary Contest for students in grades 5 through 12 to recognize and reward excellence in student writing while allowing freedom of choice in style and subject matter.

Students from Byron-Bergen who won were: Ninth-grader Cody Millspaugh, his short story took second place in the 9-12 short story category; ninth grader Lindsay Stumpf finished third with her short story; in the 7 to 8 poem category, eighth grader Brittany Fiacco received second and seventh grader Ashley Sheelar placed third.

Middle school students who received an honorable mention in the 7 through 8 category were Amanda Post, Colleen Stevens, Courtney Amesbury, Haley Howard and Audrey Waterman.
