Spencerport athletes recognized for scholarship

Six Spencerport spring varsity athletic teams qualified for the NYSPHSAA Team Scholar Athlete Award during the spring 2006-07 season. In order to qualify, a team must have a team grade point average of 90 percent or above. Teams, their grade point averages and coaches were:

•Girls Track and Field - 94.867 - Seth Blodgett; Girls Lacrosse - 93.791 - Amy Nesbitt; Boys Tennis - 93.444 - John Gentile; Boys Track and Field - 92.367 - Josh Reynolds; Softball - 91.264 - Deb Loughlin; Golf - 90.771 - Tom Etsler.

•Girls Track and Field student-athletes who qualified for this award are as follows: Nicoletta Lattuca, Alexandra Pettrone, Lindsay Mitchel, Sarah Koniski, Nicole Hazzard, Olivia Fronczak, Katherine Sanders, Kimberly Aiezza, Emily Heiler, Robin Quataert, Marissa Wimer, Nicole Kane, Nicole Marino.

•Girls Lacrosse student-athletes who qualified for this award are as follows: Laura Burgstrom, Katherine Burgstrom, Erin Blackburn, Emily French, Brittany Sheffet, Kara Farnsworth, Erin O'Brien, Lauren Sformo, Nora Venezky, Lauren French, Heather Jackman, Carly Hochreiter, Katelyn Anthony.

•Boys Tennis student-athletes who qualified for this award are as follows: Daniel Persia, Matthew Bevan-Perkins, Joseph Persia, David Daggett, Charles Hura, Michael Goettelman, John Stoffel, Derek Duignan, Jason Hollander.

•Boys Track and Field student-athletes who qualified for this award are as follows: John Coleman, Jason To, Jared Weise, Thomas Martuscello, Michael Catone, Todd Bates, Ryan Bloom, Steven Burek, Stephen Wood, Cody Saetta, Andrew Cholewa, Caleb Dunham.
