Trapper Training courses offered in July

A trapper training course is required for all persons seeking a first trapping license. There is no minimum age for participants, but adults must attend with younger children. Courses are not as numerous as other sportsmen training courses and therefore are harder to find. The following are two courses scheduled at this time in Region 8 - the Western Finger Lakes Region.

Courses in Henrietta will be July 19 from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. and July 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church, 32 Wildbriar Road, Rochester. (First right off 390 exit 14, south on East Henrietta). Must pre-register. Call 585-334-0183. Participants must attend all sessions.

Courses will also be offered in Penfield August 10 from 6 to 9 p.m. and August 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Genesee Conservation League, 1570 Old Penfield Road. You must pre-register in person starting July 11 at the club, Wednesday, 6 to 10 p.m. or Saturday-Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call 585-381-0070 for information.
