Blankets for
children in need
Prior to the school year ending, Brockport High School student Ja'Daiza Johnson wanted to do something to help others. She began making blankets for Project Linus, a volunteer organization that provides security blankets to comfort children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or in need. Before becoming a "blanketeer" (a volunteer blanket maker), she researched the program with the help of Fashion Club Advisor Cindy Marchetti. Johnson found some styles of blankets that were easy to make and selected fleece. "They all turned out great and unique in their own way," she said.
