Hilton Apple Fest amateur photo contest theme set

The Hilton Apple Fest, scheduled for September 29 and 30, has chosen the theme for the 2007 Photo Contest as "Effects of Weather." The parameters are photos, shot anytime, that depict the effects of weather on people, property and activities that happen in western New York during any of the four seasons.

The contest is open to photographers of all ages. First, second and third prizes will be awarded in each of the groups Children: up to 11 years; teens, 12-18; adults, 19 and older. There will also be a Best of Show award.

There is an application fee to help defray the cost of the prizes. To encourage the young photographers there will be no fee for the children's category. The entry fee for the teens will be $2 and the fee for the adults will be $5. The limit is two photos per person which is covered by the fee. The applications for the entries will be available on-line at the Hilton Apple Fest web site hiltonapplefest.org., at the Hilton Community Center, Hilton Library or by requesting one in writing at AF Photo Contest, P.O. Box 1, Hilton, NY 14468. All entries must be submitted to Apple Fest by September 5, 2007.
