Ann Bliss, daughter of Terry and Cookie Bliss, has been named to the dean's list for the spring semester at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in North Adams, Massachusetts, and graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree in English.

Bliss is a 2003 graduate of Kendall High School and has accepted a position as a New Business Assistant with the Berkshire Insurance Company.

Bliss was recently married and resides with her husband, Timothy Jordan, in North Adams, Massachusetts.


Grace E. Cuthbert of Churchville was named to the dean's list of Binghamton University's School of Management for the spring 2007 semester.


Kyle Muir of Spencerport, son of Pat and Jim Muir, has been named to the Athletic Director's Academic Honor Roll at Syracuse University. He is a sophomore member of the Orange football team and is majoring in exercise and health science.


Jesse Porter of Brockport achieved a 4.0 grade point average for the spring semester at Buffalo State College. Porter, a senior, majors in technology education. He graduated from Brockport High School in 2002 and earned an associate in science degree at Monroe Community College in December 2005.


Katherine Porter of Brockport was named to the dean's honors list for the spring semester at Franklin Pierce College in Rindge, New Hampshire, with a grade point average above 3.65 on a scale of four. This is the fifth consecutive semester for her to achieve this honor. Porter, a 2004 graduate of Brockport High School, is a senior studying English Creative Writing and Women's Leadership.


Kimberly Ann Root, daughter of Lauri Roland Root and Scott Root, both of Spencerport, graduated from SUNY Geneseo in June, 2007. She earned her bachelor of science degree in elementary and special education.

Root has been on the dean's list every semester. She is a member of: Gamma Theta Upsilon, Pi Lambda Theta and the National Honor Society.


Hartwick College freshman Lee Sabo, of Holley, son of Carmen and Wesley Sabo, was named to the spring term dean's list at Hartwick. Inclusion on Hartwick's dean's list is an indication of excellent academic work, including the completion of a full course load with at least a 3.5 grade point average based on a 4.0 scale.


Christan Monin of Rochester has achieved dean's list with a GPA of 3.40-3.69 at SUNY College at Brockport for spring of 2007. She is a 2004 graduate of Churchville-Chili High School and is the daughter of Shawn and Patti Melvin


Garland Beasley, of Hilton, graduated from Western Governors University with a bachelor of science degree in business management.


Brendan Gaesser graduated with a bachelor of arts in psychology and a minor in business administration from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, North Adams, Massachusetts. He is the son of Amy H. Gaesser of Kendall. Gaesser graduated summa cum laude. He was a Kendall Junior/Senior High School graduate in 2003.


The following students were named to the dean's list of Binghamton University's Harpur College of Arts and Sciences for the spring 2007 semester: Kristan N. Sanford, Churchville; Michael B. Burroughs, Hamlin; Melissa Voldan, Hilton and Kristina E. Rose, Rochester.


The following local residents graduated from Ithaca College. The degrees were awarded in May. Jennifer Sheridan, of Bergen, daughter of Gerald and Cheryl Sheridan, graduated cum laude with a bachelor of science degree from Ithaca College's School of Health Sciences and Human Performance; Megan Kuitems, of LeRoy, daughter of Russell and Anna Kuitems, graduated with a bachelor of science degree from Ithaca College's Roy H. Park School of Communications; Nicole Stich, of North Chili, daughter of Bernie and Romina Stich, graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree from Ithaca College's School of Humanities and Sciences; Alyssa Annello, of Rochester, daughter of Mark and Theresa Annello, graduated cum laude with a bachelor of arts degree from Ithaca College's School of Humanities and Sciences and Amanda Bostick, of Rochester, daughter of Kenneth and Nancy Bostick, graduated with a bachelor of science degree from Ithaca College's School of Humanities and Sciences.


The following local residents were named to the dean's list at Ithaca College for the spring 2007 term. Melanie Darocha, daughter of Bergen residents Henry and Jane Darocha; Erin Leonard, daughter of Churchville residents Robert and Jeanne Leonard; Caitlin Ladd, daughter of LeRoy residents Peter and Mary Ladd; Nicole Stich, daughter of North Chili residents Bernie and Romina Stich and Sandra Canosa, daughter of Spencerport residents John and Roxanne Canosa.

To qualify for this academic honor, students must attain a minimum grade point average of 3.7 and complete a minimum of 15 credit hours, of which at least 12 are graded.


The College of Saint Rose has named the following students to its spring 2007 dean's list. Full time students who complete a minimum of 12 credit hours and achieve a semester grade point average of at least 3.5 with no grades of D, F, Incomplete or Pass/Fail are eligible for inclusion on the list. Amanda Broadway and Brittany Doherty, of Brockport.


R. Matthew Penepent, of Churchville, has been named to the dean's list for the spring quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology. A fourth-year student in RIT's B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences, Penepent is studying computer science. Penepent is the son of Richard and Ellen Penepent of Churchville and is a 2003 graduate of Churchville-Chili High School.


The College of Saint Rose awarded a graduate degree to Brittany Doherty of Brockport in May.


Alison Duff, a 2005 graduate of Brockport High School, graduated with distinction in May from Monroe Community College. She will be attending the University of Maryland at Baltimore County: Honors College and will be playing Division I Softball and pursuing a career in early childhood education.


Matthew Joseph Balys of Rochester earned a bachelor of science degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at its 201st Commencement on Saturday, May 19.


Christine Walker, daughter of William and Eleanor Walker of Brockport and a 2004 graduate of Brockport High School, has been inducted into the Alphi Chi National College Honor Scholarship Society. Other accomplishments this year: dean's Scholars-in-Residence Scholarship, Marie Dollard McGrath Elementary Education Scholarship, Newman Scholarship, Dr. Frances Moroney Whited Reading Award, Mary I. Luskey Award, the Class of 1953 Scholarship, the Class of 1962 Scholarship and the Wegman's Scholarship. She is majoring in arts for children with a minor in visual arts.


Dr. Kristin Hill Campbell has earned her Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. She is a 2000 graduate of Churchville-Chili Central School and a 2003 graduate of Roberts Wesleyan College with a bachelor's degree in chemistry. She has accepted a pharmacist position with Wegmans. She is the daughter of Larry and Karlene Hill of Chili.


Kimberly Hill graduated summa cum laude from Roberts Wesleyan College. She achieved the dean's list with highest honors every semester and earned her bachelor of science degree in elementary education and special education. She also received her coaching certification and was a scholar athlete in soccer. She will be returning to Roberts to pursue her master's degree in literacy education and is an assistant soccer coach for the Roberts Women's Soccer team. She is the daughter of Larry and Karlene Hill of Chili.


Amanda Thompson is enrolled in the Masters of Education Program for professional certification in Special Childhood Education at Roberts Wesleyan College. She is a 2006 graduate of SUNY Oswego and a 2001 graduate of Brockport High School, and is the daughter of Neil Thompson and Connie and Jim Graves.


Jessica L. Arno of Kendall is taking part in an internship this summer through SUNY Oswego's Experience-Based Education Program. Arno, a senior broadcasting and mass communication major, interns at WHAM-TV Channel 13 in Rochester.
