Water and sewer infrastructure workshops scheduled
The New York State Water and Sewer Infrastructure Co-Funding Initiative will hold its third annual series of free co-funding workshops for municipalities seeking need with funding a drinking water and sewer project. The first of four Water & Sewer Infrastructure Co-Funding Workshops and Individual Project Consultations will be in Rochester on September 11 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 70 State Street.
The full-day workshop provides detailed information on optimizing available public funding. A morning session on available funding programs is followed in the afternoon by a choice of two concurrent workshop tracks. One track deals with managing and financing an infrastructure project, and the other focuses on developing a competitive project. Individual Project Consultations also will be held throughout the day. Funding program staff will meet one on one with community representatives to discuss their particular water and/or sewer project.
Registration is required for both the workshops and Individual Project Consultations and may be done by calling 1-800-882-9721, or online by visiting www.nycofunding.org. A detailed workshop agenda and additional information also is available on the website.
Workshop presenters and from several state and federal government agencies will participate, including staff from the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation; Office for Small Cities; Office of the State Comptroller; and the Department of State, Environmental Conservation and Health.
The workshop is approved by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation for five training contact hours toward Wastewater Operator Recertification and by the New York State Department of Health for five training contact hours toward Drinking Water Operator Recertification.
