Ogden to recognize local hero

The Ogden Town Board will recognize Master Sergeant Luann Van Peursem on Wednesday, September 12 at 6:45 p.m. at the Ogden Community Center meeting room, prior to the regular meeting at 7 p.m.

Van Peursem received the U.S. Air Force Medal of Honor for her act of courage in saving the lives of two fellow airmen in Baghdad. In a press release Ogden Supervisor Gay Lenhard wrote, "It's appropriate for Luann's community to recognize and commend her for this accomplishment."

The public is invited. The Community Center is located at 269 Ogden Center Road, Spencerport.
