Dunbar sewers to be extended

A $24,000 local implementation grant from the Lake Ontario Coastal Initiative allows for sanitary sewers to be extended to reach seven homes along the south side of Dunbar Road in the Town of Parma. Assistance from this grant allocation and the Parma Town Board allowed the financing for these homeowners to fall below the bonding threshold of the Office of the State Comptrollers for this public health construction project.

The mission of the LOCI encompasses all of New York State North Coast stakeholders from the Niagara River to the St. Lawrence with remediation, restoration protection, conservation, and sustainable use of the coastal region. The Dunbar Road Sanitary Sewer project focused on stopping the continual leaching into the storm sewers to West Creek and Lake Ontario.

The Parma Highway Department will be coordinating this construction project which is scheduled to be completed by the end of September.
