The Spencerport United Methodist Church appointed Reverend Bernadette Smith in July to serve the congregation and extend her ministry to this community at large. "Pastor Bunny" (as she likes to be called) and her husband Earl are native Buffalonians but settled into the parsonage on Ballard Avenue in Spencerport, along with their grandson, Markus Allen. The Smiths have a daughter and grandson who reside in Charlotte, North Carolina, as well as a son and daughter-in-law who live in Los Angeles.

"My family and I embrace this new appointment and view it as our 'New Beginning,' " she said. "We look forward to becoming a vital part of this close knit, warm and compassionate community here in Spencerport."

Spencerport United Methodist Church is located at 32 Amity Street. Worship is at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday. The building is handicapped accessible; parking is available in municipal lots nearby. For information call 352-3114.
