Brockport CSD inducts members to 'Athletic Wall of Honor'

Plaques of seven new inductees are on the Athletic Wall of Honor located outside the district's main gymnasium at the Brockport A.D. Oliver Middle School. Inductees were honored at a ceremony on September 7 and during half time of the Varsity Football game.

This year's class includes: Betsy Balling, BHS Class of 1990, soccer and volleyball standout; Ralph Beaney (honored posthumously), long-time Brockport Physical Education teacher and coach; Michael Depferd, BHS Class of 1990, ice hockey and golf standout; Wilbur "Buck" McCormick, BHS Class of 1933, baseball and basketball standout and long-time community supporter; Tom Nesbitt, BHS Class of 1963, football, basketball and baseball standout, teacher and coach at Brockport High School; Julie Reule, BHS Class of 1991, soccer, basketball and softball standout, four-year letter winner in Soccer at James Madison University; Richard Reynolds, BHS Class of 1950, Varsity letter winner in soccer, football, basketball, baseball and track, Kendall teacher, administrator and coach.

Twenty-one members have been added to the Wall of Honor since its inception in 2004 to honor those who have made an impact on the district's interscholastic athletic program. Inductees were nominated by members of the community and were selected based on their bravery, service, honor, support, teamwork, sportsmanship and citizenship to the BCSD Interscholastic Athletic Program.
