Players progress in football competition

On Saturday, September 22, the local competition portion of the NFL-Pepsi Punt, Pass & Kick Contests was hosted by Riga Recreation at the Buffalo Road Park in Churchville.

Participants had one chance to see how far they can punt, pass and kick a football. The player with the highest point total advances to the Sectional phase of this event.

The following players will represent the Town of Riga in the Sectionals at East High School, October 27: Aaron Monroe (8-9 Division) 159.11 points; Nick Campanella (10-11 Division) 102.0 points; Marty Belfield (12-13 Division) 140.4 points; and Steve Urban (14-15 Division) 179.6 points.

Players who win this competition will represent the Rochester area in the state finals at Ralph Wilson Stadium in November.
