Trimmer Road landfill remediated

For years, the Trimmer Road Landfill site has been inactive, but town officials were still hoping for some sort of closure from the state and it has finally come.

"The people have been questioning for years as to what the state was going to do with the site," Town Supervisor Rick Lemcke said. "Now we know - they have begun planting trees that are supposed to help 'biodegrade' the waste materials in the ground and fencing will surround the site."

The work was begun nearly a month ago and Lemcke said it looks like it's moving along well. The site is located at 152 Trimmer Road, just off of Route 104 in the town of Parma.
