Steven Modica, Spencerport resident and founding partner of the law firm Modica & Associates, received an award from the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission {EEOC} in recognition of his work as a volunteer mediator. The award was presented at the EEOC Seminar for Employers that was held at the Lodge at Woodcliff on October 5. Modica also gave a presentation at the seminar. Modica has served as a volunteer and neutral mediator in EEOC cases for several years.

Lindsay Gaylor, daughter of Ian and Marjory Gaylor of Clarkson, graduated summa cum laude from SUNY Geneseo with a bachelor of science in education degree in childhood education on May 12. She is pursuing graduate studies in childhood literacy at SUNY Brockport.

Pvt. Michael J. Spratling graduated the Marine Corps Bootcamp at Parris Island, South Carolina on September 14, 2007. He is currently attending Marine Combat Training at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and will continue on to train in the Avionics field.
