B-B students take part in Empire State Games

Byron-Bergen elementary and middle school students competed in the Empire State Games for the Physically Challenged at SUNY Brockport on October 12. The games offer opportunities in a variety of sports for youngsters with physical challenges as they strive to be the best they can be.

Byron-Bergen participants were Tyler Brown, kindergarten; Johnathan Crawford, first grade; Kristina Giancursio and Shelbi Stefaniak, second; Russell Cunningham and Melody Gorrow, third; John Paul Fedele and Aaries Fitzsimmons, fourth; Amanda Dodson, Jordan Grimmer and Jordan Sloat, sixth; Lauren Stumpf and Collin Wickings, eighth.

They were recognized at a ceremony in the elementary cafetorium on October 17. The students were chaperoned by Karen Sherwood, Kristen Partridge and Paul DiMiero.
