Butterflies fly free
Miss Jammal's third grade class at Byron-Bergen Elementary School learned about life cycles of butterflies. Her students created homes for the Painted Lady butterflies, watched them change from larva to mature butterflies, and then released them into the wild. The butterfly unit of study is part of the ESPET science program offered through BOCES 2. "The ESPET kits gave my class the opportunity to incorporate science into daily instruction and gave them a platform to make real life observations following scientific procedures. We had a great time watching our butterflies develop and grow," said Jammal.
