Christ Community Church of Brockport was recognized by Rural Opportunities, Inc. at the company's Corporate Awards Luncheon on October 23. The church was presented with a Volunteer Recognition Award which states: "With deepest appreciation for your continued volunteer work in the Seldon Square housing community. Your commitment to the children and families of Seldon Square has made a sizable impact on their lives, and you have become a valued asset to these families as well as to R.O.I." Seldon Square is located on West Avenue in Brockport.

Various members of Christ Community Church, for more than two years, have served the Seldon Square families by: providing Christmas party and gifts for all of the children, and caroling throughout the complex; handing out turkeys donated by Family Video of Brockport at Thanksgiving and Christmas; organizing a tutoring service by church members to the children of the complex; holding a July 4 party; running a summer camp and providing ongoing computer assistance to the community room at the complex.
