Ridge Road Fire District awarded $50,000 grant for SCBA air cylinder filling system

The Ridge Road Fire District has been awarded a $50,000 grant from New York State Assemblyman Josh Jensen to support the acquisition and installation of a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) air cylinder filling system.

This critical funding will enable the Ridge Road Fire District to significantly enhance the safety and operational readiness of its firefighters by ensuring a reliable, on-site air supply for SCBA units. The new air filling system will not only streamline emergency response capabilities but will also improve training and day-to-day preparedness.

Assemblyman Jensen presented the grant to department leadership on June 15, 2025, highlighting his ongoing commitment to supporting first responders and improve public safety infrastructure throughout our community.

“We are incredibly grateful to Assemblyman Jensen for his continued support and recognition of the essential work our team does every day,” said Chief Sean McGarry. “This new SCBA air filling system is a vital upgrade that will directly benefit the safety of our personnel and the residents we serve.”

This investment reflects a shared commitment between local government and emergency services to maintain the highest standards of readiness, efficiency, and firefighter safety.
