Winter Serenades Series Concludes March 22

Irish Music by John Dady and John Michael Ryan

Brockport’s Winter Serenades music series concludes with a special program at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, at St Luke’s Episcopal Church, on the corner of Main and State Streets.

In a fitting Serenade for March, join legendary Rochester Music Hall of Famer (and Hamlin homesteader) John Dady with broadcaster John Michael Ryan for a lively performance featuring the next generation of Irish music and dance. Joining the two esteemed veterans are Dady’s grandchildren, Saoirse (step dancing) and Braden (fiddle), for what should be a rousing afternoon of song and dance in the afterglow of St. Patrick’s Day.

John Ryan can be heard at noon each Sunday on the popular Irish Party House radio show on Rochester Free Radio 106.3 (rochesterfreeradio.com) and also archived on Mixcloud. This mainstay of Rochester Irish culture returned in 2026, hosted now by Rochester trad musician Ryan. Visit mixcloud.com/irishpartyhouse to hear the program if you missed the live broadcast. On the March 8 show, Dady joined the program as a guest DJ and talked about his storied career.

Ample parking is available on the street and in the lot immediately behind St Luke’s.  The church has a ramp and stairs leading to the bright red door at its front entrance.

As with all Winter Serenades, a simple reception will follow with an opportunity to meet the musicians and visit with friends. The free series is made possible with generous donations from many local music lovers and the volunteer committee members who believe that live music in a welcoming setting should be available to everyone.

Appropriate for all ages, Serenades are also available for home viewing during the performance and after. See www.stlukesbrockport.org for the streaming link or go directly to YouTube later.

Summer Serenades will return in July and August, outdoors at Brockport’s Welcome Center on the canal.
