Mostly Minimalism 2: From Laurie Anderson to Philip Glass

An Evening of Contemporary Masterworks
Faculty performers from five departments at SUNY Brockport will come together on Wednesday, March 25, at 7:30 p.m. for Mostly Minimalism 2: From Laurie Anderson to Philip Glass. The concert will take place in Tower Fine Arts Center, Room 120, and will showcase iconic works of minimalist and post-minimalist music.
The program features music by groundbreaking composers, including John Adams, Steve Reich, Laurie Anderson, and Philip Glass, among others, whose works helped redefine the sound of contemporary classical music. Characterized by hypnotic repetition, driving rhythmic momentum, and shimmering textures, minimalism continues to shape concert music, film scores, and popular genres alike.
Admission is $5 at the door or free with the Music Studies Concert Pass (which can be purchased online at FineArtsTix.brockport.edu). The event is open to the public.
