Hamlin’s Wiler Road Bridge to be Replaced

Closing April 30, Expected to Reopen in November
Beginning on Thursday, April 30, the bridge on Wiler Road over West Creek (approximately one-half mile south of Brick Schoolhouse Road) will be closed to all traffic. This closure will allow for the Town of Hamlin’s contractor, C.P. Ward, Inc., to replace the entire bridge.
Local traffic will be maintained to all driveways up to the bridge; however, the bridge itself will not be passable. Through traffic will follow a signed detour via Hamlin Center Road, Lake Road East Fork, and Brick Schoolhouse Road.
The project work will involve:
- Removal of the original bridge structure
- Installation of new pile foundations
- Construction of new footers
- Installation of a new 3-sided pre-cast concrete bridge
- Asphalt paving over the top of the new pre-cast concrete bridge
- Installation of new guiderail
- Installation of new pavement markings
Barring any unforeseen delays, the project is expected to be completed in November 2026. Monroe County is managing this project on behalf of the Town of Hamlin. For additional information on this project, visit https://www.monroecounty_gov/dot-construction.
