May and June Day Trips

The Hilton‑Parma Senior Center invites area residents to join them for two exciting, escorted day trips this spring, featuring comfortable motorcoach transportation, engaging destinations, and memorable experiences. The trips are offered at a subsidized rate for Parma residents age 55 and older, and non‑residents are welcome to participate as well. Maple, Metal & Memories – Portville, NY & PA

This is the last call to join the May trip, which celebrates the America 250 theme, honoring the nation’s history, traditions, and those who helped shape it. The excursion begins with a scenic ride to Sprague’s Maple Farms, a beloved Western New York destination surrounded by rolling hills and maple trees. Travelers will enjoy a country‑style meal with a selection of breakfast favorites and time to browse the gift shop for unique specialty items and fresh maple syrup.

The journey continues to the Eldred World War II Museum in northern Pennsylvania, where visitors will explore powerful exhibits and personal stories highlighting the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of the World War II generation. The day then moves on to the Zippo/Case Museum for a self‑guided tour showcasing American craftsmanship and the important role these products played during wartime, as Zippo lighters and Case knives became trusted tools for soldiers.

On the return trip, the group will stop at the original Tom Wahl’s, where dinner is on your own—perfect for relaxing and reflecting on a day rich with history and tradition.

The motorcoach departs from Parma Town Hall on Route 259 at 8 a.m. and returns at 8 p.m. The resident rate is $90; the non-resident rate is $120. Only seven seats remain, and the final registration deadline is May 13.

Doo-Wop Cruise & Cheese Please – Watkins Glen & Waterloo, NY

In June, travelers will head east to the beautiful Finger Lakes region for a day filled with scenery, entertainment, and great food. The trip includes time in Watkins Glen, allowing participants to explore the village, browse local shops, take photos, or simply enjoy the lakeside atmosphere. A highlight of the day is a two‑hour Captain Bill’s Doo‑Wop Lunch Cruise on Seneca Lake, featuring lively themed entertainment with classic Doo‑Wop hits. Guests will enjoy a delicious lunch with entrée choice, salad, bread, potatoes, vegetables, brownies, and beverages while taking in the stunning lake views.

Following the cruise, the group will travel north to the Muranda Cheese Company for a guided tasting of 12 artisan cheeses paired with a choice of wine, beer, or soda. This trip is the perfect blend of scenic beauty, great food, and unforgettable entertainment.

This excursion departs Parma Town Hall on Route 259 at 8 a.m. and returns at 6 p.m. The resident rate is $154; the non-resident rate is $184. The registration deadline is June 1.
