At the Fair
It was a building year for the Monroe County Fair with their move from the Dome Arena in Henrietta to a portion of Northampton Park in Ogden. Attractions included children’s fun zone, live music, and events for all ages as organizers said they tried to bring the Fair back to its focus on youth, agriculture, technology, and the community. Major events included Western, English and Miniature Horse Shows that took place in the recently created horse arena. The horse shows were open to Monroe County 4-H youth so they could score points towards qualifying for the New York State Fair in Syracuse that takes place from August 22 through September 2. There were also livestock and small animal shows throughout the fair’s four day run August 1-4.
