Gates Fire District’s Community Risk Reduction Specialist Kalliopi Lang (left) and Assistant Community Risk Reduction Specialist Laurie Schwenzer (right) were presented with the James W. Wright Public Education Award by the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs at their 120th Annual Conference on June 11. The district’s Community Risk Reduction Program was given the award for innovation and exceptional effort in fire/injury prevention and fire/life safety public education.
