Margaret A. McGrath Charitable Foundation Scholarships

The Margaret A. McGrath Charitable Foundation awarded 10 scholarships totaling $77,000 to local students for the 2026-2027academic school year. The Foundation has provided $1,286,000 in scholarships for over 125 students in the towns of Sweden and Hamlin since its inception in 2004.

The Foundation offers two types of scholarships to residents of the towns of Sweden and Hamlin. The Philip and Margaret Dollard Business Scholarship is awarded to those majoring in business, and the Marie Dollard McGrath Elementary Education Scholarship is awarded to those majoring in elementary education. Scholarships are for undergraduate and graduate degrees.

This year’s recipients of the Philip and Margaret Dollard Business Scholarship are:

  • Haneen Amireh (Hamlin) – SUNY Brockport
  • Daniel Dailey (Sweden) – Miami University of Ohio
  • Helayna Dela Cruz (Hamlin) – University at Buffalo
  • Brennan Hoelperl (Hamlin) – Sacred Heart University
  • Nathan Parker (Sweden) – St. Vincent College
  • Gregory Rightmyer (Sweden) – Genesee Community College

The recipients of the Marie Dollard McGrath Elementary Education Scholarship are:

  • Raegan Horschel (Sweden) – SUNY Binghamton
  • Jenna Rivera (Sweden) – Roberts Wesleyan University
  • Alexander Stoker (Sweden) – SUNY Geneseo
  • Keira Wilson (Sweden) – SUNY Brockport
