The Churchville-Chili football program is once again teaming up with the Ferris-Goodridge American Legion Post for its annual Salute to Service community service project. This meaningful tradition brings together student-athletes, families, and community members to support military personnel serving overseas and at medical facilities during the holiday season.
As part of the project, the Churchville-Chili and Brighton football teams will collect donated items that will be delivered to the American Legion. Volunteers will package the donations and send care packages to service members, helping spread holiday cheer and appreciation to those who serve our country.
Community members can support the effort in several ways:
- Donate requested items from Monday, September 28, through Friday, October 2. Collection boxes will be available in various Churchville-Chili school offices, including SHS Main Office, NGA Office, MSS Main Office, and Blue House Office.
- Share information about the donation drive with family and friends.
- Bring donations to the Homecoming football game on Friday, October 2, at 7 p.m. Collection boxes will be located at the new stadium entrance.
Requested donations include snacks and beverages such as granola bars, beef jerky, individually wrapped cookies, nuts, dried fruit, trail mix, protein bars, coffee sticks, hot chocolate packets, and hydration packets. Personal care and recreation items are also needed, including travel-sized mouthwash, floss, baby wipes, deodorant, card games, playing cards, puzzles, and books.
Thank you to the football teams, community partners, and residents for helping make a difference in the lives of military members during the holiday season.
