The Clarkson Historical Society will host an evening of Revolutionary War history on Tuesday, October 6, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Clarkson Academy, 8349 Ridge Road West, Brockport.
Watch history come alive as members of the Rochester Chapter of the Empire State Society of the Sons of the American Revolution present a program featuring period uniforms, muskets, and pistols, along with authentic battlefield artifacts recovered from the pivotal Battle of Saratoga. American victory at Saratoga is widely regarded as a turning point in the Revolutionary War because it convinced France to enter the fight as our ally.
Attendees will also learn ways to explore their own family history to uncover connections to ancestors who participated in the Revolutionary War.
The program is free and open to the public. Don’t miss this chance to view historical artifacts up close, including a real cannonball…just don’t wear a red coat.
