GPAS presents Holiday Bash Cabaret to benefit GRASP
Haul out the holly and ring in the holiday season with a program of holiday favorites presented by the Greece Performing Arts Society (GPAS) at its Hoppin’ Holiday Bash Cabaret – a GPAS 50th Anniversary Special. The Cabaret will be on Friday, November 8, 7 p.m., at Greece Athena High School Forum Room, 800 Long Pond Road, Rochester.
Tickets for the Holiday Bash Cabaret are $10 and available at the door. Warm drinks and seasonal snacks will also be available. Proceeds will benefit Greece Residents Assisting Stray Pets (GRASP), a prominent pet adoption agency that finds forever homes for strays in the local community.
GRASP is a 501(C)3 non-profit in the town of Greece that is committed to reducing the number of homeless pets in the community by decreasing dog and cat reproduction, promoting responsible pet ownership, and placing homeless dogs and cats in compatible, loving, permanent homes.
GRASP raises funds in a variety of ways including the “Pull Tab Collection Program.” The pull tabs on pop cans are recyclable and can be used to raise money for the care of local animals. Audience members can bring cans and tabs from home as well as purchase soda from the GPAS concession stand at the concert.
Anyone who brings cat/dog food and/or gives any type of monetary donations above ticket price will receive tickets towards a GRASP raffle basket. During the Holiday Bash Cabaret a name will be drawn and posted so the winner can pick up their winning basket after the performance.
Some of Rochester’s finest performers are scheduled to perform at the Hoppin’ Holiday Bash Cabaret – including some young newcomers to the theatre scene as well as seasoned veterans. Shari Bischoping, Tammi Colombo, Cassey Jones Costello, Kyle Critelli, Emily Crysel, Marco DeAscentiis, Alec Eddy, Ruby Garrison, Joey Gregoire, Kevin Hayes, Elizabeth Lind, Gracie Magguili, Hector Ortiz, Alec Richardson, Brianna Ross, Katarina Szulgit, Zoe Vidmar, and Rivkah Wright are among those taking the stage.
Musical selections will be familiar and memorable songs including “We Need a Little Christmas” from Mame, “Journey to the Past” from Anastasia, “Mister Cellophane” from Chicago, “You’ll Shoot You Eye Out” from The Christmas Story: The Musical, “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” from Meet Me in St. Louis and more.
