Annual Scouting for Food event underway
The Seneca Waterways Council Boy Scouts of America is teaming up with area Tops Friendly Markets locations to collect food for area food banks during their annual Scouting for Food event. Donations can be dropped off throughout the week of March 14 through 21 at area Tops locations, including Hamlin, Hilton, and Spencerport. Scouts will often be on site for collection.
Non-perishable suggested items for donation include (but are not limited to): pasta and rice, canned fruits and vegetable items, peanut butter, soups, juices, cereal, paper products, and toiletries. No glass containers, please.
“The Scouting for Food Drive is the single largest community service projects our Scouts participate in annually across our five-county area. It has a significant impact in helping restock the shelves at over 40 neighborhood food pantries as they prepare for the increased need from families during school breaks and summer,” said Stephen Hoitt, Seneca Waterways Council Scout Executive/CEO.
